1. JOB PURPOSE :

The Test and Service Technician is responsible for assembly, installation, test, service and repairing of mechanical, electrical, electronic, - modules and systems.  Work will include production, field service, customer returns, engineering development, data collection and testing. Candidates will possess strong problem solving and troubleshooting (to component level) skills, as well as ability to use hand/ automated tools, and set-up/calibration/test equipment.  

2. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Assembly, calibration, test and troubleshooting of subassemblies, final assemblies and systems per specifications, manufacturing drawings, procedures, work instructions and data sheets
• Performs product modifications and upgrades
• Performs service on customer returns
• Inspects and signs off on all work before moving to next operation
• Performs buddy system inspections and sign off on critical processes and product
• Able to use DVMs, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, spectrum analyzers, recorders/data loggers, hand tools, crimpers, soldering irons, torque wrenches.
• Recognizes set up and process/product failures and is able to troubleshoot to determine root cause, and make corrective action recommendations
• Keeps supervisor appraised of all unresolved and/or potential problems and work interruptions that will negatively affect daily, weekly and monthly production schedules
• Provides support to Production Supervision on all production assignments, and may work in other departments on other assignments as required
• May be utilized for engineering experimentation, development, data collection and testing
• May be requested to assist in other job duties, as required within the facilities and/or at customers and suppliers

3. QUALIFICATIONS

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work in an environment where Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Total Quality Leadership, Kaizen, and 5S tools and techniques, are constantly applied to obtain quality and productivity improvements and to reduce all costs

2 year technical diploma or degree with 5 years of experience, or:
Related military training and 5 years of experience, or:
15 plus years of on the job training and experience
